Privacy Policy
What this site does with your data. It is short, because the site does very little.
Last updated 9 August 2026
This policy describes what this website does with your data. It is written to match what the code actually does, and it is short because the site does very little.
What is stored on your device
Two values, both in your browser's localStorage. Neither is a cookie, neither
is sent to the server, and neither identifies you.
| Key | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
libxaframe-theme |
light or dark |
Remembers your theme so the page does not flash the wrong one |
libxa-cookie-consent |
all or essential |
Remembers your answer so the banner stops asking |
Clearing your browser storage removes both. The site keeps working; it simply forgets your theme and asks about cookies again.
What the server records
Nothing, unless you submit the newsletter form.
If you do, your email address is appended to a file on the server together with a timestamp. That is the whole record: no name, no IP address, no tracking identifier. It is used to send release notes and nothing else, and it is not shared with, sold to or processed by anyone else.
There is no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no pixels, no fingerprinting, no advertising network.
Your web server will keep ordinary access logs, as every web server does. Those are not used to build a profile of you.
Third parties
One: Google Fonts, which serves the Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces.
Loading a font from fonts.googleapis.com discloses your IP address to Google.
If that matters to you, self-hosting the two font files removes the request
entirely: it is a small change and a reasonable one to make.
Links to GitHub, Packagist and other sites are ordinary links. Following one takes you to a site with its own policy.
Libxa Desktop
The desktop application is separate software and behaves differently:
- It contacts
github.comto check for its own updates, and the publishers' hosts:downloads.php.net,nodejs.org,nginx.org,archive.mariadb.org,files.phpmyadmin.net,getcomposer.org: when you ask it to install a runtime. - It sends no telemetry. There is no usage reporting, no crash reporting and no analytics in it.
- Everything it stores: configuration, logs, the runtimes it installs, your database: stays in its own directory on your machine.
Your rights
To ask what is held about you, or to have your email address removed, write to hello@vyloxi.com. There is one thing it could possibly be: an address in the newsletter file, and removing it takes a moment.
Depending on where you live you may have rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or similar laws, including access, correction, erasure and objection. Those requests go to the same address.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. There is no version history yet because there has been no previous version.
A note on scope. This describes the reference deployment of this site. If you are running your own copy, what it does depends on what you have changed, and this text is a starting point for your own policy, not legal advice. Have a lawyer look at it before you rely on it.
