Terms of Service

The terms covering this website and the software it distributes.

Last updated 9 August 2026

These terms cover this website and the software it distributes. Using either means accepting them.

The software is MIT-licensed

LibxaFrame, the LibxaStack starter kit and Libxa Desktop are released under the MIT Licence. You may use them commercially, modify them, distribute them and build proprietary products on them, provided the copyright notice and the licence text travel with the software.

The full text is on the licence page, and the authoritative copy lives in each repository.

The MIT Licence disclaims warranties, and that disclaimer is real. The software is provided "as is". If it loses your data, breaks your deployment or costs you a customer, the licence says the authors are not liable, and that is the basis on which it is given to you for free.

Using this website

You may read it, link to it, and quote it with attribution. Do not use it to distribute malware, attempt to break into it, or scrape it in a way that degrades it for other people.

The content is provided in good faith and may be wrong or out of date. Documentation describes intended behaviour; the code is what actually runs. Where the two disagree, the code wins and the documentation is a bug.

Accounts

The sign-in screen exists in the interface. Account creation is not yet connected to anything, so no accounts exist and no credentials are stored. When that changes, these terms will change with it.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, you get release notes and nothing else. Unsubscribe by writing to hello@vyloxi.com. See the privacy policy for what is stored.

Libxa Desktop

Additional terms specific to the desktop application:

  • It downloads and runs third-party software: PHP, Node.js, Nginx, MariaDB, phpMyAdmin and Composer. Each of those is licensed by its own authors under its own terms, which apply to your use of it. The verification the app performs establishes that a download matches the publisher's checksum; it is not an endorsement or a warranty of that software.
  • It modifies your system hosts file, with your explicit permission each time, and only inside a block it marks as its own.
  • It serves web content on your local network interfaces. On an untrusted network, other people on that network can reach the sites it serves. That is the nature of a local web server; the app mitigates the worst case by binding phpMyAdmin to localhost only.
  • Builds are not code-signed yet. Windows will warn you. Only install builds obtained from the official releases page.

Availability

This is a free, open-source project. There is no uptime commitment, no support guarantee and no service-level agreement. The site or a download may be unavailable at any time.

Third-party content

Partner listings, testimonials and ecosystem entries on this site are illustrative placeholder content from the original design, not statements of fact about real relationships. Where content is real: the changelog, the news articles, the documentation, the Desktop page: it describes work that has actually been done.

Changes

These terms may change. Continued use after a change means accepting the updated version.

A note on scope. This is a starting point written to describe an open-source project honestly, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it before relying on it for anything commercial.
